Thrombosed external hemorrhoid can be detected by the naked eye as a tender mass at the anus region. Along with the pain, patients also complain of discomfort when suffering this condition.

Other symptoms that coincide with thrombosed external hemorrhoid include constipation and diarrhea.

There are 2 categories of treatment for thrombosed external hemorrhoid. They are the non surgical treatment and surgical treatment.

Non surgical treatment usually includes the use of therapeutics such as sitz baths, stool softeners and analgesics. These are ideals for patients who experience mild pain and discomfort due to the thrombosed external hemorrhoid.

If the patient complains of extreme pain, doctors usually resort to surgery. This surgery involves making an incision to the hemorrhoid to drain the blood out of it.Other treatments are such as rubberband litigation and infrared coagulation. These are also helpful to cure thrombosed external hemorrhoid.
